It 'Twas Chemo, Not A Perm!

So I've been super slacking on the blog these days... so my apologies and I'll try and post more than once a week... here's my latest and greatest...

Last weekend was my dad and dog's birthday - yes, they both have the same birthday! I went home for the weekend - actually even took off that Friday as well. Just did some errands and hung out with the family for the most part. Me and dad made a fancy dinner one night, we went to this really nice grocery store that I've never been to, everything was top-notch and fresh and delicious. It was funtastic and yummy.
I also took my parents out to a nice brunch on dad's actual birthday which was nice. We even stopped and walked around some park, tried to swing on the swings too, but an all you can eat brunch doesn't do well with swings :)

Here's a picture of me and my pup before brunch after he opened his birthday presents -- I know, I know, we're crazy! But check out how friggin' curly my hair is, it's like legit curls! Like a perm!!!
Other than that, I've just been catching up with friends and relaxing this lovely weekend. My 26th birthday is approaching.... another year coming to a close :) Don't forget to buy me a pony or a puppy or a lamb!!!!

Oh and speaking of sad lambs I helped my next door neighbor move out today. But as Veronica says, perhaps the man of my dreams will move in instead! It's highly doubtful, but fingers are crossed!

Hope you're all doing swell! I'm getting antsy about the Hodgeapalooza November edition in Louisville! I can't wait!

XO!!!

Chelsea Handler = Hilarious

Last night was Chelsea Handler which was funtastic. You would however think that since Chelsea really loves her vodka that it wouldn't have taken me 30 minutes to get a friggin cocktail! We had really good seats, just a few rows from the front, which was awesome! Also, I did get to briefly meet her and Heather McDonald and get a book signed. I had to actually re-buy the book because you weren't allowed to bring your own copy (scam) and you weren't actually really allowed to talk to her, it was kinda weird. She was definitely cracking the whip a bit. The line also took a good hour to get through. But, she did sign my book "Kelly! Suck it! XO Chelsea" You would think I told her what to write, but I didn't! I also said, "You must be getting tired from all the signing" and her response was "Everyone has been saying that, I must look like SHIT!" I also got Heather McDonald to sign my book and she even told me which hotel they were staying at if I got ambitious! I consider myself quite the detective sleuth!

Oh and one amazingly funny thing that happened at the show. So Chelsea was joking (afterall, it's a comedy show) and saying she met some chick from Southie earlier that day who had told her she had been date raped twice, by the same guy... ahem, why would you go back for it again... anywho, this crazy bitch near us screamed, "That joke sucked!" and everyone gasped and booed her, she even stood up and said something about Southie... and Chelsea says to her, umm this is a comedy show, if you don't like it then pack up your shit and leave! It was awesome! The woman didn't leave, which is even funnier. But seriously, calm your shit down! Ha ha!

After the show, Mandy went home and me and Pat went out and had some drinks. He definitely brings out the drinker in me. I stayed at his house, obviously, since I drank a bunch. Then this morning we were thinking about what to do, and were just about to go to the movies, but I convinced him it was waaaaay too amazing outside, so we went and had a random walking day of fun in Boston instead. And yes, Veronica, I finally got your cups -- which was actually why we went! :) We walked all around until about 6pm, watched some performers, did a lil shopping, had lunch, walked near the water, super cute. I told him he needs to get a girlfriend now to take to all these gay romantic places that we found! Ha ha! I'm such a good friend. All in all, really good weekend. I'm so glad I got out and enjoyed the nice weather. It was like a 10 today, bright blue skies, fluffy clouds, warm but a little breeze, just plain amazing!

Anywho, I'm off to go shower and relax now. Hope you all had a good weekend!

Suck it and XO!

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

So Saturday I had a "day of fun" in Boston with my cousin, did a little shopping, went out to my fave restaurant (Artu!!!), had a little pineapple vodka and stayed in the city at the Westin. All was lovely. I'm personally not a big fan of shopping lately, it just makes me cranky, but I'm also looking forward to fall, so I was on a slight mission. Surprisingly, I found 3 pairs of flats that I loved, and I really never buy shoes, and even more, never like them. Sooo I went along with it and bought them, was very impressed by my purchases too.
After we checked out the hotel this morning, we went to breakfast and checked our bags for a little while -- you know where this story is going... Lucky me! They lost one of the bags with my shoes!!! Ugh. And I bought them at Filene's Basement, and I can't find them online, yada yada yada... the place couldn't find them anywhere, they assumed someone must have taken them by accident or they fell into someone elses bag... sad lamb. Soooo I had an option of getting my money back for the shoes that I probably can't repurchase, which were $50, or getting a free nights stay at the hotel another day. I was under pressure, and still had the idea that my shoes might show up, so I took the free night stay.... but really, I'm pretty bummed. It's not like I got to wear them, and I just shelled out $50 for them! I'm kinda thinking about calling them back and seeing if they'll just reimburse me for them and be done, because it's really like I'm paying $50 to stay there.... granted, I think it can be a few hundred bucks to stay there for the night, and it's nice there, buuutttt I don't ever really need to stay in the city. I mean it's a nice treat, but I'm not that far. I dunno. Maybe they'll give me both my money and a free night for my inconvenience. I'll wait and see if they turn up, I'm hoping a good Samaritan gives my new shoes back.

Fingers crossed! Anywho, all in all, a good weekend. I'm an exhausted lady though. There are never enough hours in the day and days in the week! I'm trying to get some stuff accomplished right now before I hit the hay. Fingers crossed for a more low-key week!
Oh and one more thing -- I finally purchased my tickets to Louisville for November! Hooray!

Weekend-tastic

I'm so bummed that tomorrow is already Monday. There are so many things I want to do, need to do, and not to forget catching up on sleep, but there's never enough time. I've got a couple more days off to take this summer, I should figure that out soon...

I'm going to visit Ry Ry and Jenny in Louisville, Kentucky in November. We're trying to have a mini hodge bonanza, hillbilly style! I'm waiting for tomorrow to purchase my tickets since we'll finalize the weekend by then! Hooray!

This past week has been kinda weird. I've been feeling rundown, like always. And I didn't work out at all last week either - and instead ate too much junk food. Whoops. Tomorrow starts a new week and hopefully I'll be treating my body a bit better! I made a bunch of my smelly pasta so at least I can bring my lunch for a few days. I also did a bunch of cleaning (I know, like every weekend) and tonight too a nice long bath and relaxed - hopefully all of those lovelies will help me sleep good tonight. Oh and Friday, I saw the new Batman movie at an IMAX theater. I've never been to an IMAX but it was super awesome. Made me slightly nauseous, but still all in all, pretty awesome and great for a blind gal like myself :) And the seats were more comfy for the 2.5 hour movie! Anywho, it was a really good movie, and I usually don't like movies like that. I hope you're impressed Wullster :) And you'll have to put that on your to-do's for when you're working in Alabama soon!

That's all for now, just wanted to post so you know what I've been up to. Hope you're all enjoying your summer!

XO!

Young Professional My Ass

Soooo I went on a young professionals networking boat cruise of Boston Harbor -- for those of you that went to Anthony's On Pier 4, I now know what that loud boat filled with people was! It was ridiculously terrible. I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay too old to do things like that, and ummm it sooo wasn't for young professionals... more like ladies of the night, and umm 21 at best. I brought a bunch of business cards and everything and tried to be optimistic, until we got there and were handed glow sticks and mardi gras beads - big red flag! THEN Nicole and I decided it was time to count how many old dirty men were on the cruise - which means they were clearly NOT young professionals! We got to about 78 people, mostly men, but threw in a few women that had their boobs at their ankles for good measure.

Oh AND I saw a girl projectile vomit all over a bench... yumm.

Note to self: never go on a boat cruise again because you can't leave until it docks 3 hours later.
