The Boston Wellness Community Closes Its Doors Due To The Economy

Bad news local cancer friends, the Boston regional office of the Wellness Community closed its doors this week due to lack of funding. According to this article they were the first non-profit in the Boston area to have to close its doors due to the economy. It's such a bummer, they had a beautiful space that was very relaxing and comfortable. They even offered free classes and even exercise for cancer patients, survivors and family members.

Although this place didn't really serve as the best support for me and my age group, it was definitely a ray of hope for older folks facing cancer. I even did a blog training there last January...wow what a change in the last year!

Now that I think about it, I know why I haven't been getting the bi-monthly mailings from them. What a shame. Let's hope for everyone else's sake no other non-profits have to close down, and of course being slightly selfish let's hope the economy gets a boost so I can get a job!

XO

That's such a shame but unfortunately I don't think it will be the last one.
