The Good News And The Bad

Well let me start off with the bad news to get that out of the way -- I found out this week that my contract where I had been freelancing has been terminated. They hired someone to take over all things Public Relations for the company.

The good news? It was me! Ha ha! I start tomorrow officially as their Public Relations Manager. Should be a great learning experience and fun too. Afterall, people bring their dogs into the office a couple days a week -- can't beat that!

And no folks, it's not cancer-related but it's something I know and I'm pretty decent at. So for now, I'll probably just do some cancer stuff on the side or something.

In other news -- yesterday I finally caved and tried yoga for the first time. People have been bugging me forever. Mostly massage therapists who get the awesome job of trying to fix my super tight muscles that are more like rocks than muscles.

Nicole's yoga place was having an open house this weekend, so I decided to conquer my intimidation in class. It was 90 minutes -- and I gotta say that I was ready for it to be over in an hour. I had no idea how much people sweat during yoga though. The room was nice and warm, but literally just stretching made me drip buckets! By the end of class I was soaked from head to toe. Who knew!? Everyone that goes say they love it -- but I'm on the fence. I think I might have to give it another whirl and see what it's about. My body is already pretty sore from yesterday but it could be good for my uptight muscles :)

In other exciting news, I heard that my pal Wullie from Scotland is coming to visit me the weekend of the February 12th. He's working in Alabama for a couple weeks and convinced his company to send him my way for the weekend. Hooray!

Okay, that's my latest and greatest for now. I'll try and post again soon. Hope you're all swell! And thanks for the notes new Chemopalooza readers! Glad my site helped!

XO

Congrats on the new job! I love yoga, couldn't exist without it. I work with ChiliTechnology and am a breast cancer survivor. A lifesaver for me was a mattress pad that cools (or heats) the bed: ChiliPad I wish they had one of these in every hospital. It was so essential for me because the chemo would make me alternately very hot, and then freezing cold - and I could adjust my bed using a remote control.
